Switching from iPhone to Android? You may not get messages from other iPhone users. Here's how to fix it.

If you are planning to desert your iPhone and move to any other mobile platform, including Android, chances are that you may not get messages from contacts who are still using iPhone. This is because of the way Apple's iMessage service has been designed.
Even if you have moved to any other mobile platform, Apple still sees you as an iMessage user and it tries sending you messages via the iMessage route. The problem here is that senders see the messages as being delivered, while those messages have actually not been received by recipients.
But, thankfully, there is a way out. Business Insider has has posted a guide showing what is to be done before you actually abandon your iPhone and switch to a new smartphone. You will need to disable iMessage to ensure that you continue to get messages from your contacts who are still using iPhone.
