Narendra Modi's Twitter follower count soared by 104,861 on May 16, the day his and his party's enormous victory in the Lok Sabha elections were announced.
Narendra Modi started May 16 at 3,986,878 followers and ended the day at 4,091,739. It is now over 4.12 million followers and growing fast.
Narendra Modi added the highest number of followers in a single day since he joined Twitter back in January 2009.
This isn't the only record that @narendramodi created on counting day. Hisvictory acknowledgement tweet broke many Twitter India records. It is the most RTd ever tweet in India.
It also reached 10K, 20K, 30K, 40K RTs the fastest. The tweet currently at the time of posting this has about 67K retweets and was favourited 42K times.
Two other tweets by @narendramodi, one an intimate autographed photo of him seeking his mothers blessings, and the other asking his followers to write their messages on his victory wall, also went viral, overhauling his top 3 RTd tweet record.
