India is the only nation where the ratio of number of suicides is improving consistently. According to the survey; roughly half million individuals make suicides in a year worldwide. 20% of the individuals among them are Indians. If we happen to find out factors of choosing suicides, we will find numbers of reasons. 

They may be decreasing public segregation, avoiding public disintegration, psychotic characteristics, improvisation, making some error and dealing with psychological conditions. Different analysis and Research studies have shown the large amount of suicide deaths are discovered to occur between the age groups of 15 to 29 years. 

The trend of committing Suicide is also common in filmy celebrities. The life we see on TV and cinemas screen is totally different from their real life. Here we see only happiness, enjoyment, fun, tension free life; but in reality they also have problems as common people have. They hide their real emotions and pretend to be happy in front of us, that is why they are called Actors. If we look at the Bollywood industry; we see many “stars” that shine in the sky for a time and then vanish making no indication.

What purpose triggered them to disappear? No one knows. Some committed suicides, some disappeared, and some ruined their lives in drugs, alcohol. Envy aspect with Co-stars, unsuccessful, career lost and love failure are the major causes. I would like to talk about some Bollywood’s big tragic suicides. So here is a list of top 8 most controversial suicides in Bollywood history.

 

1)      Guru Dutt:

Guru Dutt was the first star in Bollywood industry, who committed suicide on 10^th October, 1964. His loss of life happens due to consuming lot of liquor and taking sleep aids personal issues and stress are considered to be the main cause of his suicide. He had a strong love affair with an actress Waheeda Rehman and a quarrel with his spouse Geeta Dutta, beside this he was not allowed to meet his children. 

He was famous actor, director and producer of his time. He is all time famous for his blockbuster movies like Paisa, Kaghaz Key Pool, Sahib Bib Aura Glulam and Chaudvin Ka Chand. 

2)      Parveen Babi:

The most desirable, beautiful, glamorous, and talented evergreen lady committed suicide and found dead in her house on 22 January, 2005. Police has found her dead body after 72 hours, she has diabetes. “Sleeping pills and alcohol found in her stomach”, according to the post mortem report. So we can make come to the conclusion that she had not eaten anything sine three days. This also would be the cause of her suicide. Her super hit movies are Majboor, Suhaag, kalapathar and Namakhalal.

3)      Divya Bharti:

Divya Bharti the youngest and interesting actress of her generation; died early in the age of 19 years by falling down from her husband’s apartment in Mumbai April5, 1993. No one has discovered the reason of her death either it was murdered, or suicide. But mostly people said it to be a suicide. Police has investigated 5 years but did not find any clue, so the case was closed unsolved.

4)      Silk Smitha

South film industry heroin “Silk Smitha” committed suicide at the age of 35. Failure in love, financial problems and alcohol addiction is the cause of her suicide. 

She earned a lot of fame in doing bold scenes. Recently Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor has made the film on the life of Silk Smitha. Leading the role of silk by Vidya Balan has made movie a blockbuster.

5)      Reema Kapadia

The younger Sister of Dimple Kapadia has committed suicide in London under personal circumstances. She has not the good filmy carrier. Her death is still suspicious to the Police.

6) Manmuhan Desai

Director Manmuhan Desai committed suicide by jumping from his building in Mumbai in 1994. Reason of his death is still unknown. Mostly people said that he cannot bear pressure as suffered from Chronic pain He is famous for his action, romance and comedy films. He defined a new category of movies the Masala movies.

7) Varsha Bhosle

Daughter of famous singer Asha Bhosle has committed suicide on 12^th October, 2012. She was mentally imbalanced at the time of death.

8) Jiah Khan 

The rising star who started carrier with legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir khan and Akshay Kumar has committed suicide. A six pager suicide note was found from her residence. 

The suicide letter indicates her death after failure in love with son of Aaditya Pancholi. But she was also worried about her filmy carrier. The incident took place on 3^rd June 2013. Jiah also attempted to commit suicide by cutting her wristt.
